Nestled in among 100 year-old oak tress is one of my favorite parks in Pinellas County.Philippe Park is an amazing place to take the kid.The park overlooks upper Tampa Bay and has plenty of room for kids to play and explore.Odet Philippe, whom the park is named after, brought cigar making and citrus to the Tampa area. Some of the trees he planted still remain in the park. Here you can find four playgrounds spread through out the park. One is a very unique rock-climbing playground.Picnic tables over look the water providing a great place for lunch. The park has over a mile of shoreline providing some great views and opportunity for fun walks. Here you will also find an ancient Indian mound that you can walk up and run down.
Philippe Park in Safety Harbor
Philippe Park is located on the banks of upper Tampa Bay and offers great views and picnic spots plus a rock-climbing garden.
Much of this 122-acre park is shaded by large oaks that help keep you cool on even the hottest of days. A truly unique place.
