Hillsborough River State Park is a 3383 acre state park that features small rapids and river nature trails. I love this park! People have been coming to this area for over 1,000 years. It was once known as the "acorn eating place". And while we don't eat acorns when we go we still always have a great time. There is lots of places to explore. Ask one of the rangers for directions to the suspension bridge- it will be the highlight of your trip. Trails run along the river and feature hammock of live oaks. The also have a pool (open seasonally), camping and canoe rentals. Dogs on a 6 foot leash are welcome.
