Children learn by doing and there is a lot to do at Heritage
Village.It is a 21-acre living
history museum with more than 28 historic structures for the kids to
explore.It is fun to wander
through the pine trees and pretend to be living in Pinellas country 100 years
ago.Several of the buildings are
open and allow you to explore at your own pace. The Plant-Sumner House has a hands-on section that allows
your kids to feel like they live in the home.If you have school age kids in tow make sure to take time
for the tour of the House of Seven Gables. At the H.C. Smith Store you can buy a small glass Coke for
$1.00, a favorite of most kids.In
the front exhibit room kids can be put on duty and wash cloths by hand and hang
them out to dry.From Heritage
Village paths lead to great picnic spots at the Florida Botanical Garden and on
Saturdays a Farmer's Market.Spend an afternoon wandering around and let your kids get lost in their
imagination.

Loved it! My daughter and I spent the day walking the paths and going in and out historic buildings. It gave us time together outside and away from our busy schedules. I liked that the paths we mostly shaded and the tour is at your own pace. There are rain barrels that offer information to your visit. We didn't get to see all of the park so we are going back again soon. A. Davis- St. Petersburg, FL
